Synod Listening Sessions at St. Thomas!
You’re Invited!!
As Church, we are called to be aware of Jesus in our midst and to witness Him into the world by word and action. Each parish is called to be a place of prayer, worship, catechesis and service to all of God’s children – each and every one. You are invited to come and share, listen and discern how our parish can best live out this mission.

God be with us as we journey as Church together!
The purpose is to rediscover our roots as a listening Church where the voices of all God’s people are heard and valued. This kind of listening affirms what unites us and includes everyone in the life of the Church and its mission. We each must begin by taking time to listen with our hearts to one another in our own homes, churches, workplaces, and community. We trust the Holy Spirit, the source of hope,
leads us in all these conversations as we get to know one another better and together imagine new ways to “be Church” as we journey together.
The first step is to reflect on your own experiences of church and begin to have
conversations with family and friends about their own experiences. Reach out to those who
are alone, struggling, or apart from the Church. You may want to begin each time with a
prayer. Then, listen with your heart and without judgment to one another’s joys, hopes,
grief, and anxieties.
Here you will find some questions to help you get started:
We encourage you to fill it out. Your responses can be and signed or unsigned. If you would like to know more about the Synod process, please include a way we can contact you. Sharing your hopes and dreams for the Church will help unite us as a community-- grateful for our blessings, humble about out failings, and filled with hope for our future.
Your thoughts about the questions below will be part of our parish response to Pope Francis’ request for all to participate as we journey together.
