To protect creation, to protect every man and every woman, to look upon them with tenderness and love, is to open up a horizon of hope; it is to let a shaft of light break through the heavy clouds; it is to bring the warmth of hope!
(Pope Francis)
In these challenging days, when social distancing is replacing the reassuring hug of a loved one or the warm handshake of a friend, we can still “open a horizon of hope.” Take time to connect with friends, relatives, neighbors (especially anyone in quarantine) by text, email, letter or phone call. Let them know they are not alone. Join with your family in prayer for the health of the world. Remember to recycle. Spring clean with earth-friendly products. (You can google "non-toxic cleaning products" to make at home.) Celebrate creation by clearing your yard of winter debris and planning your garden.
We can be the warmth of hope.
