As we live the renewal of Lent, rethinking our choices and recommitting to faith-filled behaviors, Creation Care Team is offering some Small Steps to Care for Creation. Caring for creation is caring for the entire ‘web of life’. It is social justice. It is seeking to be healers in our world. Huge goals, arrived at one small step each day.
March 22 is World Water Day
Consider these small steps to care for creation: Turn off the water after you wet your toothbrush. Don't let the faucet run while you clean vegetables; rinse them instead in a stoppered sink or pan of clean water. Seventy-five percent (75%) of water used indoors is in the bathroom, and 25% of this is for the toilet. Don't use the toilet as a wastebasket. Every flush of an average toilet uses 4 gallons of water.
Meatless Recipes For Lent And Beyond
Choosing plant-based meals aids in reduction of carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions. Creation Care Team members are sharing favorite meatless dishes. This week the Team offers two: Frittata and Scalloped Potatoes. Complete recipes for these and past weeks are on St. Thomas website.
