AMERICA RECYCLES DAY November 13, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Elm Avenue Park parking lots by the pool complex, 261 Elm Ave., Delmar. Co-sponsored by Bethlehem Central School District Green Team, Grassroot Givers and Delmar Farmers Market. Open to everyone. Complete information at the Town of Bethlehem's Recycling Events.
GLASS TO BE RECYCLED successfully must first be separated from other recyclables and then separated by color. This is a time-intensive and costly process which often means glass put into our recycling bins does not make it into a next generation item. To help move more glass into the reusable stream, Honest Weight Food Coop (HWFC) is partnering with Zero Waste of the Capital District and has placed a bin outside their store at 100 Watervliet Ave. Albany, for your CLEAR GLASS, free from any metal or plastic contaminants. NO lids, NO plastic rings around neck of bottles, reasonably clean of food residue. Read the full story of this process.
