Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22. It is the 50th anniversary of this annual global event. While social distancing is preventing community gatherings, the Earth Day organization is inviting everyone around the globe to participate digitally in a citizen scientist research experience measuring plastic pollution and/or air quality. The data will be used to help protect creation and prevent further harm to our Earth. To learn more about this experience and to download the app for the project, go to Earth Day.org.
If a digital experience is not for you, consider setting a family recycle/reuse goal, read The Lorax or Long Walk to Water to your children and talk about what the story is teaching us, join in prayer for the people of this world suffering during this pandemic, and pray for a more just sharing of creation’s resources.
Celebrate creation this Earth Day with a commitment
to preserve and protect this gift of God.
