Dear School Leaders, Last week, the St. Thomas the Apostle community learned that after much prayerful consideration Tom Kane will step away from his duties as principal at the end of this month. As you will read, Tom has been praying about this for quite some time. A true servant leader, he led his school community to a successful reopening before fully rendering his decision as final. Of his many gifts, the one which has inspired me the most is his unwavering strength when faced with challenging situations and circumstances. We are pleased to welcome back Mr. Ernie Casile who will serve as interim principal for the remainder of the school year. Taking dependable and dedicated to a whole new level, Ernie is well on his way to the award for the administrator who has served in the most diocesan schools! All kidding aside, we are blessed to have Ernie among our family of Higher Powered Leaders. A full search for the next principal of St. Thomas will launch in the winter. We are grateful to Tom for his more than 20 years of dedicated service, and wish him all the best. Please join me in extending God’s choicest blessings to our friend and colleague.
