Dear Members of the St. Thomas School and Parish Community,
Earlier this month our beloved school principal, Mr. Tom Kane, retired from his position after much prayerful discernment. Mr. Kane has served the St. Thomas the Apostle community well during his 20 years of service and will surely be missed. Please join me in extending our gratitude to Mr. Kane on a job well done and wishing him God’s abundant blessings ahead.
We are pleased to welcome Mr. Ernest Casile as Interim Principal of St. Thomas the Apostle School. Ernie comes to us with a wealth of experience in education, serving at all levels from classroom teacher to building leader to central office administrator. He has most recently served as the Interim Principal of Sacred Heart School in Troy. He holds education degrees from both The College of St. Rose and Siena College, in addition to maintaining three New York State certifications in teaching and one in administration.
Mr. Casile and his wife Gloria reside in Colonie. They have three grown sons and a daughter, as well as two grandchildren. Ernie continues to come to the aid of our schools during their times of need for which we are most grateful. He began his interim stint on November 2nd and will remain in that position throughout the school year until a full principal search has been successfully completed. The search for the next principal of St. Thomas will begin in early 2021.
We feel confident that Ernie will provide St. Thomas the Apostle School with the leadership that will ensure the school runs smoothly in these turbulent times and students will continue to grow spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Casile to the St. Thomas the Apostle community!
