Grow a Butterfly Garden and increase the number of pollinators in our environment. The butterfly is not only a beautiful part of creation, but also a valuable part of the life cycle of fruits, vegetables and flowers. The butterfly carries pollen from plant to plant as it "drinks in" nectar from the blossoms.
Plants that are most likely to attract butterflies include:
Phlox | Coneflower | Lantana | Pot Marigolds |
Black-Eyed Susan | Aster | Bee balm | Butterfly bush |
Calendula | Cosmos | Daylily | Delphinium |
And don’t forget some water for the butterfly. They can't drink from ponds or bird baths, so put in shallow "puddles" of water (little pie tins can work) for these beautiful creatures of creation.
