2020 has been a year of challenge. It can also be a year of change, change that brings justice for the people of this world and for the planet we inhabit. We can be, as Mahatma Gandhi said, the change we want to see in this world. Jesus showed us the way with his life, his words. The choice is now ours to act: joining in prayer with our community, donating goods or money to food pantries and shelters, following guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, informing ourselves about the “problems of society” today—racism, COVID-19, inequality in health care, harm to the environment—so we can speak with knowledge…and…support with our vote…solutions to those problems. Love is an action verb. We can be the change.
