“Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
(Mother Teresa)
Caring for creation is love, not uttered in a single proclamation, statement or promise, but rather demonstrated in the faithful repetition of the acts we know will protect the people, environment, flora and fauna of our world. It is wearing our masks in community, “buying local” from our Delmar Farmers’ Market each Saturday, eliminating single-use plastics in our homes, recycling, composting, planting native flowers to attract pollinators. Our strength as protectors, as guardians, as leaders in caring for our “Common Home” lies in our shared engagement in these and multiple other small acts of caring.
