St.Thomas CYO is volunteer-run. The more parents who help, the more successful the season will be for the players and team. How can you help?
Help Your Team
Each team needs the following volunteers:
Team Parent - A team parent (Moms and Dads are welcome!) will organize the volunteers for each game - concessions, admissions, and timekeeper for home games; scorekeeper for all games. Download the team parent guidelines for more information.
Concessions - In most cases, two parents will be scheduled to help manage the Concession stand for home games, one for each half so no parent will ever miss a whole game. Every family will be assigned to help with Concessions during the season.
Admissions - In most cases, two parents will be scheduled to manage the Admissions table for home games, one for each half so no parent will ever miss a whole game. Every family will be assigned to help with Admissions during the season.
Timekeeper - At home games, a volunteer will be required to manage the clock. Simple training can be made available. The most important part of the job is paying attention to the game!
Scorekeeper - At both home and away games, the team needs a volunteer to keep score - see video below for instructions on how to score the game. The scorekeeper helps ensure the score is kept accurately and tracks fouls throughout the game, per player and per team.
Help St. Thomas CYO
St. Thomas CYO as a whole also needs volunteers to run smoothly. You can join the board to help manage the ministry overall or join a specific committee. For example, volunteers help manage:
Tiger Fest at the beginning of the season
The Pallante Tournament in January
The final celebratory banquet at the end of the season

Youth Opportunities
There may be opportunities for participants in the St. Thomas Middle & High School Faith Formation program to earn Community Service credit by helping out with CYO. If you are in that program and interested, please contact the board at
[email protected] to find out what opportunities are available.
