In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us to let go of fear, to speak in the light and proclaim our love, caring, and faith in our own world. As our society and our churches begin to open up, we can look for new ways to care for each other and our world. I am inspired by stories in the media of our neighbors – young and old - who care for the ill, lonely, forgotten, hungry and homeless. We have a lot to learn from the protests and need to look for ways we can help heal our communities. Our Creation Care Team needs your ideas and ask that you share them so that we can give them a wider voice.
Some small suggestions for the coming week:
As I was working on some neglected garden areas in our yard, I thought of why it is important to add compost and nutrients to tired and neglected soil. It changes things. It renews and restores, It brings new life. Isn’t that what our prayer and small actions can do for our earth and its people?
