“SPREADING THE JOY OF THE GOSPEL” -- 2018-19 BISHOP’S APPEAL ~ Through the end of Juke, we will continue to focus on our 2018-19 Bishop’s Appeal. Our goal this year is $199,166 , which is 3% less than last year’s assessment. To date we have received 177 gifts and pledges, a total of $81,627 toward our goal. Thank you in advance for your generous support.
Congratulations to Doug Erickson who, along with three others, was ordained to the Diaconate on Saturday by Bishop Scharfenberger. We wish him many years of fulfilling and fruitful ministry. Doug will give the homily at all of our Masses next weekend, the feast of the Most Holy Trinity.
Each year the seminarians studying for our Diocese are given a ten week summer placement in a parish. Part of the purpose of the placement is to give the seminarian a hands-on experience of the wide diversity of the 126 parishes in the diocese, to help introduce them to the concrete practicalities of parish life and to give them the chance to develop the skills needed for parochial ministry.
We are happy to welcome seminarian Dan McHale to St. Thomas this summer. A native of Hudson, NY, Dan is completing his First Theology year at St. Pope John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, MA. He will be arriving around June 1. Please keep Dan and all of our seminarians in your prayers as they continue their discernment process.
