This month marks the 5th anniversary of Pope Francis' encyclical on ecology and care for all of God's creation—Laudato Si–On Care For Our Common Home. Our parish's study of the encyclical became the foundation of our Creation Care Team and the invitation to all of us to care for our common home. Pope Francis has taught that our earth and all of creation is a gift to cherish, respect, and protect. Through greed, consumption and indifference we have made the earth and its resources vulnerable to destruction. The message of our church and environmental leaders has been a call to action. This pandemic has made each of us aware of how fragile life is. This anniversary is a time to reflect on what we must do together to protect each part of creation and each person. Our parish is called to renew our commitment to the gifts God has given us. Please share what you are doing to care for our earth and its people so that we can grow in love and caring.
