While there will not be any community gatherings marking Earth Hour this March 28 because of COVID-19 precautions, you can still be part of this world-wide observance from your own living room. This Saturday at 8:30 pm, turn off your lights, unplug your electronic devices, put down your smart phone and spend the next 60 minutes in prayer and discussion of daily opportunities to appreciate and protect God's gift of creation. Make it fun for the children with a candlelight dessert hour, reading books by flashlight such as A Long Walk To Water, or other environmentally-focused stories. Include prayers of thanksgiving for the gift of creation. When you "plug in" again go to Earth Hour Take Part Online to sign the Voice for the Planet Pledge to care for creation. The Pledge will be shared with leaders at global conferences throughout 2020.
